On the day of the wedding we invite you to join us at the Safari Park all day. If you're in town additional days, here are some ideas for what to do during the rest of your visit!

Attractions
- Escondido Renaissance Faire — Open May 4th and 5th. 7 minutes from the hotel.
- Orfila Vineyards & Winery — Tasting room (21+) and beautiful vineyard. 10 minutes from the hotel.
- Carlsbad — A town 20 minutes west of the hotel. Here you'll find the beach, Carlsbad Village, LEGOLAND, The Flower Fields, and The Windmill Food Hall.
- San Diego Botanic Garden — 37 acres of paths, plants, and ocean views. 25 minutes from the hotel.
- Looking for more options within 20-30 minutes of the hotel? There are plenty of cool beaches and things to do in Oceanside, Cardiff, and Solana Beach. Lauren grew up by Moonlight Beach!
Restaurants
- Swami's — Our favorite SoCal chain for breakfast and lunch. The menu has classic diner food along with Californian and Mexican favorites. 2 minutes from the hotel.
- Stone Brewing Escondido — One of the pioneers of west coast craft beer. Gorgeous restaurant and beer garden. 7 minutes from the hotel.
In San Diego
Attractions
- Balboa Park — Museums, gardens, restaurants, and the San Diego Zoo (separate from the Safari Park where the wedding will be held).
- Beaches — If you're downtown we recommend Mission Beach, but there are lots of beaches with their own personalities so check what is close to you.
- Coronado Island — An island across the bay from downtown. Great beach, restaurants, and shopping. You can get there by bridge or ferry.
- Point Loma — Enjoy the view at Cabrillo National Monument, take a stroll down Sunset Cliffs, and have dinner at Liberty Station.
- Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve — Our favorite place to hike. Beautiful ocean view and sandstone cliffs.
- La Jolla — Beach, shopping, and restaurants. We especially like the Children's Pool with its local sea lion population.
Restaurants
- Kindred — Our favorite vegan metal restaurant with a giant four-eyed wolf head. Great cocktails.
- Tribute — Greg is obsessed with their wild pizza specials that are tributes to other restaurants. We suggest visiting in person rather than getting delivery.
- Mothership — Science fiction tiki bar that you have to see to believe. "Earth Food" is served. Reservations required for dinner, limited walk-in standing room.
- Plumeria — Vegetarian Thai. Sometimes one of us will say "you know what I want for dinner?" and the other will correctly say "Plumeria."
- Colima's — If you happen to be in North Park, this is our hole-in-the-wall Mexican place. 24/7 drive-through.
